Abstract

The purpose of this study was determination the effectiveness of Dialectical behavior therapy techniques Training on distress tolerance and self-assertiveness in bullied-victimized students. This semi-experimental study was conducted using pre-test and post-test with control group. The statistical population of the study was all male high school students of first section of Tabriz city in the (2018-2019) who 30 bullied-victimized students were selected by purposeful sampling, one-stage cluster sampling, and screening procedures and finally these subjects were randomly assigned to the experimental and control group (15 subjects in each group). The instruments used included the Bullied-Victimized Iranian Scale, Simmons & Gaher Distress Tolerance Scale, self-assertiveness questionnaire(ASA). The experimental group experienced 10 sessions of training Dialectical Behavioral therapy techniques, while control group did not received any training. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance method. Results showed that there were significant differences in distress tolerance, and self-assertiveness post-test scores between the experimental group and the control group (p < 0.001). Thus, it can be concluded that Dialectical behavior therapy techniques Training can improve distress tolerance and self-assertiveness among bullied-victimized male students.
