Investigation and Comparison of Effectiveness of Integrative-behavior and Cognitive-behavior of Couple Therapy on Communicational Beliefs of Couples Who Want to Divorce

Abstract

The goal of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of two approaches of integrative-behavioral and cognitive-behavioral couple therapy to and improve the communicational beliefs of couples who want to divorce and has come to the consultant center of social police of Tabriz. 42 participants (21 coples) were selected as sample and randomly assigned into three groups: two experimental and one control group. All participants were asked to complete pre-test and post-test Relationships Beliefs Scale (RBS). Members of experimental groups were given 10 sessions of training on two approaches. Members of control group did not get any training. Data were analyzed through analysis of covariance.
Results indicated significant difference between the experimental and control groups, the results revealed that IBCT and CBCT approaches were significantly effective on enhancing the relationship beliefs (p<0.01), and IBCT was also significantly effective more than CBCT on relationship beliefs
