The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self esteem and thin ideal internalization with body image dissatisfaction.401 undergraduate woman, which selected through Cluster random sampling responded to Rosenberg self esteem Scale, Multidimensional Body- Self Relation Questionnaire and The Sociocultural Attitudes towards Appearance Scale-3. To analyze the data, significant correlation test and multiple regression analysis were used. Results revealed that self-esteem, internalization- athletic and internalization- general accounted for 17% of the variance in BID. Internalizatin- general revealed direct affect in the prediction of BID and self-esteem and internalization- athlete revealed indirect effect in the prediction of BID.
It should be taken into account that, Internalization and self-esteem have a role in BID, which is researchers and clinicians in research, prevention and treatment should be considered.
