Relationship between Parenting style and Early Maladaptive Schema in Disconnection–Rejection and Impaired Autonomy and Performance in Young Schema Model

Abstract

This investigation aims to study the parenting styles role on predicting early maladaptive schema in Young schema model. In this regard, 235 Tabriz university students (male and female) were randomly selected to fill in two questionnaires of young Parenting Inventory (YPI) and short form young schema.  The variables were studied based on Jeffrey Young theory frame work. Using the regression analysis the results showed that parenting styles is a good prediction for five fields, except other-directedness, maladaptive schemas in two fields of Disconnection-Rejection and Impaired autonomy and performance.
