Abstract

The main purpose of this study was the Investigation of factor structure of the Mayer–Salovey–Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test V2.0 (MSCEIT). Three hundred students of allameh tabatabayi students recruited through multistage clustered random sampling and the test was administrated them. The result of this study indicated that there was good internal consistency between test’s item and the Cronbach’s alfa was 51-87 for the sub-scales of this test. In order to investigate the factor structure of the test AMOS 18 was used. The result of Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that one-factor model proposed by constructer the test did not fit with observed data. The factor structure of two-factor model, consisting through two latent factor of experiential and strategic, was not fitted with observed data as well. The most important finding of this study was confirmation the three and four factor model, because the three factor model is economical, this model was preferred to four factor model.
