Abstract

The aim of this study was to The Relationship between academic hope and academic well-being: mediating role of academic enthusiasm. The research method was descriptive-correlational, structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the research was all second-year high school students in Shiraz in the academic year 2024-2025, among whom 516 students (223 boys and 293 girls) were selected using a multi-stage random cluster sampling method and responded to the Academic Hope Questionnaire (AHQ), Academic Well-Being Questionnaire (AWBQ) and Academic Engagement Questionnaire (AEQ). Structural equation analysis was used to analyze the data using SPSS-26 and AMOS-24 software. Academic hope had a positive and significant effect on academic enthusiasm, and academic enthusiasm also had a positive and significant effect on academic well-being. Also, examining the indirect path of the exogenous variable (academic hope) on the final endogenous variable (academic well-being) showed that academic hope through academic enthusiasm had a significant indirect effect on academic well-being. Overall, the findings of the present study indicate that academic hope can play an important role in promoting academic well-being by strengthening academic enthusiasm. This result indicates that intrinsic motivational components, such as hope and enthusiasm, are linked not only to academic performance but also to students' mental health and should be considered in educational planning.
