The Effectiveness of Mindful self-Compassion Training on Distress Tolerance and Emotional Inhabitation in Students with Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Abstract

The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of Mindful Self-Compassion Training on Distress Tolerance and Emotional Inhabitation in Students with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. The statistical population was whole client Students of the Generalized Anxiety Disorder in Ardabil Seyed Hatami comprehensive health clinic in the year 2021. 30 Students with Generalized Anxiety Disorder were selected through the purposive sampling method and randomly assigned into two equal experimental and control. Experimental group received 8 weeks of mindful self-compassion training 90 minutes each session During this period, the control group did not receive any intervention. distress tolerance Questionnaire and emotional inhabitation were used in pre-test, post-test to assess the subjects. Data were analyzed by Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) and Analysis of Covariance (MNCOVA). The result showed that Mindful self-Compassion Training was effective on distress tolerance and emotional inhabitation. Therefore, it could be said that the Mindful self-Compassion Training improvement distress tolerance and emotional inhabitation scores in Students with Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
