Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of abnormal personality dimensions, body image and symptoms of dramatic personality disorder in predicting marital dissatisfaction of women seeking divorce. The research method is descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the study was women who filed for divorce and referred to family courts in 1400. The statistical sample of the study consisted of 160 people who were selected and examined using the available sampling method based on entry and exit criteria. Enrich's marital dissatisfaction questionnaire, abnormal personality dimensions of Krueger et al, Sueto and Garcia's self-concept and clinical-Millon multi-axis questionnaire were used to collect data. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple (simultaneous) regression analysis. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between abnormal dimensions of personality (negative emotion, failure, opposition, restraint) and symptoms of dramatic personality disorder with marital dissatisfaction. Marital dissatisfaction also increases. There is also a negative and significant relationship between body image satisfaction and marital dissatisfaction. So that with increasing satisfaction body image, marital dissatisfaction decreases. The results of regression analysis also showed that the variables of dramatic personality disorder, negative emotion and opposition, dark dimensions of personality and satisfaction with body image can negatively and significantly predict the marital dissatisfaction of women seeking divorce. Attention to personality traits and body image satisfaction play an important role in marital dissatisfaction.
