The Investigation of the Effectiveness of Social Skill Training in Theory of Mind Improvement in Aggressive Students and the Assessment of It’s Effective Stability

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of social skill training in theory of mind improvement amanog aggressive students and the assessment of its effective stability. The Sample of the research consists of all girls and boys studying at guidance school, both in official and private independent- state schools in Ardabil. The subjects of the study were 600 students (300 boys & 300 girls) of six, seven and eight grades that were selected by cluster random sampling method. Grik and Grotpeter peer Nominational scale and DSM- IV- TR were used to select aggressive subjects, and 80 aggressive students (36 girls & 44 boys) were selected for this study. Advanced theory of mind test was administered to measure theory of mind, then the subjects were divided into two groups (one experimental and one control group). Social skill training, Were applied for 10 session (1.5 hours for any session) but the control group didn’t receive any trainings.20 days after the first post- test performance, Happe’s theory of mind assignment were performed as second post- test to measure-the constancy of training program  effectives to the Experimental group. The results were analyzed by descriptive statistics, two ways ANOVA with repeated measurement and covariance analysis. The results showed that there was a meaningful difference between the performances of two groups and the experimental group performance had been improved in post- test1 and was stable in post- test2 the research Findings emphasis the necessity of social skill training improvement of theory of mined and prevalence of aggression.
