In the current study, the role of school social environment in students’ degree of self-regulation was examined. Furthermore, this hypothesis was tested that ‘open climate in school can anticipate the higher levels of self- regulation’. The participants were 415 junior female students at four high schools in 2009-2010 academic years belonging to two socio-economic classes (low and high) of society. They were required to answer three questionnaires assessing school social climate, self-regulation and academic motivation. In the present study which was conducted via a casual-comparative method, socio-economic situation, academic motivation and academic achievement (the students’ GPAs) were controlled. The findings of multiple regression analysis with hierarchical model supported the examined hypothesis and three variables of socio- economic situation, academic motivation and school climate were found to be the significant predictors of the higher levels of self- regulation. It was also found that 18.6% of the variation in students’ self-regulation can be explained by taking school climate into account (23.38, <em>p</em>01/0>) عوامل متعددی وجود دارند که می­توانند بر میزان خودتنظیمی دانش­آموزان اثرگذار باشند. در پژوهش حاضر به بررسی نقش جو یا محیط اجتماعی مدرسه (که حاصل ادراک جمعی افراد از محیط کاری­شان می­باشد)، در این زمینه پرداخته شده است. همچنین این فرضیه که «جو باز مدرسه پیش­بینی­کننده سطوح بالاتر خودتنظیمی است» مورد آزمون قرار گرفت. نمونه مورد بررسی 415 نفر از دانش­آموزان سال سوم 4 دبیرستان دخترانه در سال تحصیلی 1389-1388 بودند که در دو طبقه دارای موقعیت اجتماعی- اقتصادی بالا و پایین قرار داشتند و به سه پرسشنامه مربوط به «جو اجتماعی مدرسه»، «خودتنظیمی» و «انگیزش تحصیلی»، پاسخ دادند. در این مطالعه که به روش علی- مقایسه­ای انجام شد؛ وضعیت اجتماعی- اقتصادی، انگیزش تحصیلی و پیشرفت تحصیلی (نمره معدل دانش­آموزان)، مورد کنترل قـرار گـرفت و تجزیه و تـحلیل نـتایج حاصل از روش تحلیل رگرسیون چنـدگانه با مـدل سلسله­مراتبی، جهت بررسی سهم متغییر پیش­بین (جو مدرسه) نشان داد که فرضیه مورد پژوهش تأیید شده و سه متغیر وضعیت اجتماعی- اقتصادی، انگیزش تحصیلی و جو مدرسه، پیش­بینی­کننده معناداری برای سطوح بالاتر خودتنظیمی هستند. همچنین متغیر جو مدرسه 6/18% از واریانس متغیر ملاک را در این پژوهش، پیش­بینی کرد (01/0><em>p</em>­ ،38/23). https://psychologyj.tabrizu.ac.ir/article_4153_63cf60976e8dd01eb2e90f42b3aec107.pdf
