The method of this quasi -experimental study with pre-test and post-test design was unequal with the control group. The statistical population was all couples with marital conflicts who referred to counseling centers in district 1 of Tehran cityin year summer of year 2024. In first 45 couples with a score of 115 and above on the marital conflict questionnaire was selected and then randomly divided into 2 experimental groups (each group 15 couples) and one control (15 couples) were replaced and experimental groups underwent cognitive-behavioral couple therapy (12 sessions of 90 minutes) and couple emotional focused therapy (12 sessions of 90 minutes), but the control group received no therapy and remained in the waiting list. To collect data marital conflict questionnaire (MCQ) of Sanaee Zaker and et al (2008) and couples relational aggression and victimization scale (CRAViS) of Nelson and Carroll (2006). Data analysis was performed using SPSS-28 with analysis of variance with repeated measures and Bonferroni. The results of the study showed that of both interventions had a significant effect on covert relational aggression in couples with marital conflicts (P<0.05). In addition, the results of Bonferroni post hoc test showed that couple emotional focused therapy is more effective than cognitive-behavioral couple therapy (P<0.05). It can be concluded that that, in addition effectiveness of both therapy, the priority of use in the therapy of couples with marital conflicts is with the couple emotion-focused therapy.
