Psychological well-being is one of the most important indicators in evaluating people's psychological health which can be influenced by different factors. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between meaning in life and psychological well-being in university students. This is a descriptive correlational research which was done by the method of structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this study was the students of University of Tabriz in the first three months of 1402. In this study, 240 people participated in an online survey using available sampling method. In order to collect data, Steger's Meaning of Life Questionnaire (MLQ), Riff's Psychological Well-Being Questionnaire (RSPWB) and Luthans's Psychological Capital Questionnaire (PCQ) were used. The results showed that the proposed model has a good fit. The results of the bootstrap test showed that the direct effect of meaning in life on psychological well-being (β=0.364) and psychological capital (β=0.753) was significant, and the direct effect of psychological capital on psychological well-being (β=0.494) was significant (P>0.05). Also, the results showed that psychological capital had a partial mediating role between meaning in life and psychological well-being (β=0.372) (P<0.05). In general, it can be concluded that meaning in life has been effective in improving the psychological well-being of students both directly and through the promotion of psychological capital components.
