The present study is a basic-descriptive correlational research. 373 students (131 men, 242 women) were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling among the students of Bo Ali Sina University in Hamedan. The research tools included Yang and Brown's (2005) early maladaptive schema questionnaires and Coates and Mesman-Moore's (2014) psychological maltreatment. For data analysis, descriptive statistics including mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics such as multiple regression were used in SPSS software. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between psychological maltreatment and the early maladaptive schemas in the field of detachment and rejection. The results of the regression analysis also showed that 43% of the variance of childhood psychological maltreatment is predicted by the schemas of the field of detachment and rejection. Also, among the components of the early maladaptive schemas in the field of detachment and rejection, emotional deprivation and isolation schemas significantly predict childhood psychological maltreatment with β = 0.457 and β = 0.230, respectively (P<0/05). Therefore, childhood psychological maltreatment is related to early maladaptive schemas, and in order to inform parents, it is necessary to train parents on correct parenting methods by related centers.
